Notes
All actors: if you need a costume placed back stage, you can ask a costume crew member because they want to place them themselves.
Midas:
- Conner: we need to hear you say “a gift”.
- Kris: Make sure you are positioned so gold light will shine on Savitha.
- Katherine: don’t hide chimes.
Alcyone and Ceyx:
- Carelle: be on time for sailor entrance.
- Michael: make sure you take off your hood right before Ben says “very good”.
- Claire: Put pause in between both “No Goods”.
- Claire: immediately hold fabric like a lantern as soon as you get it.
- Claire: Put something in your hair so you don’t mess with it.
- Kris: work on your pitch
Erysichthon:
- Jared: Walk around the fallen tree as in speaks to you.
- Ana: Good Physicalization.
- Tucker: You don’t always have to be moving. You should stand your ground sometimes.
- Bowen: We like you putting the blue fabric over your arm like a waiter.
- Jared: Make “Leaning in to eat your foot” bigger.
- Jared: Pull up your pant leg to get to your foot.
Orpheus and Eurydice:
- Fates: Find a way to have black fabric as Orpheus enters the underworld.
- This one’s my B. I didn’t make this clear enough to the actors but the reason you guys have that black fabric at the beginning is so that in this scene after Artesia sets the basket down you guys can reach in and grab some black fabric to play with as denizens. You can wear it, torment them with it, whatever.
- Denizens of the underworld: More moaning.
- Kris, Savitha, Charlotte, and Ryan: See Mr. Peerenboom about last “farewell”.
- Everyone in second part of this play: Project!
- Conner: Make going down steps more even.
Vertumnus:
- Bowen and Katherine: Practice getting dress on together.
- Bowen : Articulate on granny monologue.
Myrrah:
- Ana: Make wafting away suitors more bold.
- Ana: Make the realization that you’re Cinyras’ daughter bigger.
- Ana: Make sure not to sit with your knees together, bent, and in front of you because the audience can see up your dress.
Phaeton:
- Charlotte: Make pen drop bigger.
Eros and Psyche:
- Carelle: Pick up cues.
- Tucker and Artesia: Make the first time seeing each other longer.
- Tucker: We liked how you wrapped your arm around Psyche as she says her line.
Baucis and Philemon:
- Connor and Ben: You should have blankets as you enter on stage.
- Dov and Ryan: Bundle black fabric and put it with the rest of the pile.
- Everyone: We will be taking labels off the fabrics.
- On this note also we realized in crew that putting the fabrics in person specific places is probably not going to work at this point because we are unsure of which is who’s. They will still all be laid out on that row but will no longer be arranged by name. Look for yours
- Narrators: Face the audience more when on bridge of the gods.
- Dov and Ryan: Make it look like you are talking to each other when you are deciding on what to wish for.
Curtain:
- Myrrah and Lindsay: make sure to be at the bottom of the stairs before you start bowing.
- Everyone: you should make this whole thing faster.
Everyone: If you have a monologue, make sure to address all sides of the audience.
I also got a note to let people know to be quiet backstage, so do that.
More Notes

- Savitha: Don’t stop bouncing the ball.

Scheduling
Monday and Tuesday of this week will be dress rehearsals. Wednesday will be our preview night. Thursday we open. Friday and Saturday we have shows. Here's how that's gonna work.
Actors
Actors are called tomorrow through Wednesday at 6:00. If you already know you will need longer than that to prepare, come earlier. (We're going at 7 these days just to be clear.) Keep the time before that open if necessary just in case Jim or I need to work something that I've forgotten about, but for the most part you should be good to show up at 6:00 these days.
On Thursday I believe there will be a company dinner, so show up at 5:00 for that.
For other show nights, keep showing up at 6:00 (Again, unless you know your costume/make-up usually takes longer).
Remember to check your props and come to me or a crew member if you think something is misplaced or you have any relevant questions.
Crew
First of all, we have a job that will happen right after school Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday that we will need all of crew for. You might have noticed we're missing a few seats in the risers. 37 seats. So each day, right after school, we will go into the band room and borrow every seat they have. All 37 of them. Lucky us. This won't take too long and if everyone helps to carry a few chairs we should get this done in 10 min each day.
The following crew members are called for dress and show nights: Lydia, Barrett, Ava, Hillary, Sammy, Riley, Ethan, Emma, Chani, Katie, Ivy*. Just to be clear other crew members are also welcome to hang with us before the show on show nights. We like to bond a little bit in very non-cultish ways before the show sometimes.
*Ivy I need you here to run house manager stuff but since Monday and Tuesday have no audience I don't think you'll need to be here those days.
Please show up at 5:30 (half an hour before the actors) to set stuff up before they ruin it with their grubby little hands... It's ok for me to say that they don't read the crew parts trust me. If an actor reads this send me a picture I dare you.
Still show up at 5:00 Thursday for dinner. It's free food why not.
For dress/show night crew: Prop/run people you will be in charge of setting props and the stage each night. Check every candle to make sure its working and if not, repair and replacement supplies are in the cage. Light that glow tape. Costume crew do whatever it is you do that I have been keeping out of. Whoever I feel like picking on will sweep the stage. Also if some crew members would like to assist with make-up for some of the more helpless actors that would be nice. After the show, I'll need you guys to strike the stage, return props to the prop closet, and help bring back the chairs to the band room.*
*Not Fridays for the chair stuff
